Validity of CG TET Certificate
Validity of CG TET
- Once the candidate qualifies in Chhattisgarh CG TET examination, the validity of CG TET Certificate will be valid for life long.
- The qualified candidate may appear again in the next Chhattisgarh CG TET examination to improve upon the marks.
- The marks obtained in Chhattisgarh CG TET examination may be used as weightage while the recruitment of teachers. Decision regarding the weightage will be taken by the recruiting authority.
Syllabus of CG TET
Structure of Chhattisgarh CGTET
- Questions of CG TET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.
- Each paper will be of two and a half hour duration and a total of 150 questions will be asked. Each question will be of one mark. There will be no negative marking on wrong answers.
- There will be two papers of the CG TET Test. Candidates qualifying the first paper will be eligible for teaching in classes one to five. In the same way, candidates qualifying the second paper will be eligible to teach in classes 6 to 8th.
- All the questions in Chhattisgarh CG TET will be asked in two languages (Hindi and English).
- First language will be Hindi and the second language will be English.

Note : A person who intents to be a teacher for both levels (class I to V and class VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the Chhattisgarh CG TET papers ( Paper I and Paper II)

CG TET Passing Marks
Passing Marks for Chhattisgarh CG TET
Candidates should secure at least 60% CG TET Passing marks to qualify the Chhattisgarh CG TET exam. Schedule Tribe, Schedule Caste, Other Backward Caste ( non-creamy layer ) and persons with special needs will require at least 50% marks to qualify the Chhattisgarh CG TET exam

CG TET Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria for Chhattisgarh CG TET
Candidates have to appear in two different Chhattisgarh CG TET examinations for eligibility for teaching at Primary and Upper Primary level. Minimum qualifications for these examinations are as follows:
(1) For teaching in classes one to five
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45 % marks and passed or appearing in final year of two- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulation 2002
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 % marks and passed or appearing in final year of four- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 % marks and passed or appearing in final year of two- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Graduation with 50% and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Candidates who have passed B.Ed from NCTE recognized institute may be considered for the post of teachers to teach class 1 to 5 but the appointed teacher would need to complete bridge course of 6 month on primary education recognized by NCTE within 2 years of appointment.
(2) For teaching in classes six to eight
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or two year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) passed or appearing in the final examination.
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or two year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) passed or appearing in the final examination in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50 % marks and passed or appearing in final year of four- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 % marks and passed or appearing in final year of four-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. Ed./ B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and a one year B.Ed. (Special Education) or two year B.Ed. (Special Education) passed or appearing in final year examination.
Note 1 :-
- Relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks in minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be permitted to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled for tet exam CG.
- Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education: For the purposes of this Notification, only a Diploma/Degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education NCTE) shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and or B.ED (Special Education) only a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
- Training to be undergone: A person with D.Ed (Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education) shall have to undergo, a six-month Special Programme in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE after the appointment
- The minimum qualifications referred above apply to teachers of Languages, Social Studies/Social Science, Mathematics, Science etc. In respect of teachers for Physical Education, the minimum qualification norms referred to in NCTE Regulation, dated 3rd November, 2001 (as amended from time to time) shall be applicable. For teachers of Art Education, Craft Education, Home Science, Work Education, etc. the existing eligibility norms prescribed by the State Government and other school managements shall be applicable till NCTE lays down the minimum qualifications in that respect .
- A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 29th July, 2011 shall be eligible for appearing in the Chhattisgarh CGTET.
- Candidates who do not have the above qualifications can not appear in Chhattisgarh CGTET.
- The candidates should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria.
Note 2 :-
It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test CG TET it does not imply that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. The eligibility shall be finally verified, by the concerned recruiting agency / appointing authority.
CGTET Passing Marks for OBC, ST, SC
Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, OBC(Non-Creamy Layer) and person with special need will need 50% marks to qualify the teacher eligibility test.
So SC, ST, OBC candidates need to obtain minimum 75 marks to qualify.
