In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. What is the age limit to appear in Tripura TET (TTET)?
There is no age limit for candidates appearing in Tripura TET (TTET). During recruitment of Under Graduate Teacher (For Classes I-V) and Graduate Teacher (For Classes VI-VIII) age limit will be as per recruitment rules of the Government of Tripura as amended from time to time.
However, as per the direction of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, dated: 29.03.2017 in SLP No. 18993-19049/2014, the candidates who have participated in the selection process pursuant to the advertisements dated, 29.10.2002, 05.04.2006 and 23.09.2009 of Directorate of School Education, Government of Tripura, whether selected or not, are eligible to participate in the selection process by relaxing their age but subject to their having necessary qualification. Such candidates have to produce interview call letters issued by Education (School) Department, Government of Tripura during certificate verification.
Applicability, in which schools Tripura Teacher Eligibility Test (Tripura TET) is applicable?
(i) a school established owned or controlled by the appropriate Government or a local authority.
(ii) an aided school receiving aid or grants to meet whole or part of Its expenses from the appropriate Government or the local authority.
(iii) a school belonging to specified category.
(iv) an unaided school not receiving any kind of aid or grants to meet its expenses from the appropriate Government or the local authority.

Validity for Tripura TET (TTET)
The Validity Period of Tripura TET (TTET) certificate is SEVEN years from the date of award of the same.
There will be no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can take for acquiring a Tripura TET (TTET) certificate. A candidate who has qualified in Tripura TET (TTET) may also appear again for IMPROVING her/his score.

Question Paper (TTET Paper-I and TTET Paper-II) will have 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each in the subjects under the relevant papers.
Each right answer will be awarded one mark. There will be no negative marking in Tripura TET, TTET. Question papers will be in English and Bengali only (other than language Papers). All OMR Answer Sheets for marking answers and instructions etc. will be in English only.

Eligibility Criteria for Tripura TET, TTET
Tripura TET, TTET: PAPER-I
(a) Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 1-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) from recognised institution prior to year 2005.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-years Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
Graduation and 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
(b) Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PH.

Tripura TET, TTET: PAPER-II
(a) Graduation and 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (or 1-year Diploma in Education obtained prior to 2005) by whatever name known.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-years B.A. / B. Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed / B. Sc. Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.) (Special Education).
(b) Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PH.
Note:
a) Candidate with 45% marks in Graduation can also apply for Tripura TET, TTET Paper-II if she/he obtained B. Ed degree before the date of implementation of NCTE Regulation, 2009.
b) Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education (B. Ed)/ Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed) are provisionally allowed to appear at TTET 2017. Such candidates must have to produce Bachelor Degree in Education (B. Ed)/ Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed) pass mark-sheet / certificate during certificate verification or else their candidature will be rejected.
c) Tripura TET, TTET Paper-I is for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I-V and Tripura TET, TTET Paper-II is for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI-VIII. Candidates intend to be teacher for both levels are required to apply separately (online) including payment of prescribed fees etc. and will have to appear in both the papers.
d) Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
e) Candidates are to apply online; hence, there will be no pre-test verification of certificates/mark-sheets and other documents.
f) The Board will verify certificates/mark-sheets and other documents of the candidates who obtain pass marks.
CLARIFICATION OF MARKS OF GRADUATION:
a) A successful Honours candidate passed with 50% (Or 45% as the case may be) marks in only Honours Subject is eligible for Tripura TET, TTET Paper-II (Graduate Teacher for Classes VI-VIII) provided the candidate passed all Elective Subjects.
b) A candidate who secured 50% (Or 45% as the case may be) marks in aggregate taking together the marks of Honours & Pass Subjects is eligible for Tripura TET, TTET Paper-II (Graduate Teacher for Classes VI-VIII).
c) A candidate who passed Graduation in Pass Course with 50% (Or 45% as the case may be) marks in aggregate is eligible for Tripura TET, TTET Paper-II (Graduate Teacher for Classes VI-VIII).
d) A candidate under Old Course who passed without Honours with 50% (Or 45% as the case may be) marks in aggregate in Part-I (Pass Course of 2- Years Duration) is also eligible for Tripura TET, TTET Paper-II (Graduate Teacher for Classes VI-VIII).
Passing Marks for Tripura TET, TTET
A candidate who secures 60% (90 out of 150) or more marks will be considered to have passed in Tripura TET, TTET. Relaxation up to 5% (83 out of 150) in qualifying marks for SC/ST/PH candidate will be allowed as per decision of the Education (School) Department, Government of Tripura.
