Who Conducts TET India
TET is a basic test that every aspiring teacher need to qualify.
Anybody who who wants to become teacher for class 1 to 8 need to qualify this test.
CBSE 
State boards conduct TET at state level for schools of state.
Schools in which CTET is applicable are :-
(1) The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.
(2) CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
(3) Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.
Schools in which State TET is applicable are :-
(1) a school established owned or controlled by the state Government or a local authority.
(2) an aided school receiving aid or grants to meet whole or part of Its expenses from the state Government or the local authority.
(3) a school belonging to specified category.
(4) an unaided school not receiving any kind of aid or grants to meet its expenses from the state Government or the local authority.
Note :-
Points 3 and 4 varies from state to state.
In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII.
